Hey Snowshoers! Year 6 of the Yeti Snowshoe Series is almost underway, only a few more sleeps and everyone will be having a blast on the newly snow filled trails at Mt. Washington. Dave Howells (Team Yeti) and I have scouted out an amazing course last year and we had such great feedback from it that we aren't going to change a thing, you definitely don't want to miss this race. Grab the family and make a weekend of it, snowshoe on Saturday and then take in some skiing or snowboarding on Sunday. Pre-registration ends Wednesday Jan. 17 at midnight so sign up now! Mt. Washington has received over 10 feet of snow this season! Awesome course! Great workout! Bring your kids to run with the Yeti on our kid's fun course. (Free for kids under 10 with paid adult entry) Sign them up on race day. Post race snacks and Kicking Horse coffee Fantastic draw prizes! Free bottle of Sleeman beer at the post race awards! Great food at the Raven Lodge! Those who are up for it on Saturday Night can party it up with the Yeti crew at Fat Teddy's, there will be Sleeman's on special and a DJ spinning some great tunes. Nothing like a little unwind time after the race! Last but not least, discounted rate on lift passes for the Sunday for anyone who participates in the Yeti. Enquire at the event. Click here to register as a group. Drop In Session at Mt. Washington Sun. Jan. 14 THIS SUNDAY If you want to give snowshoe running a try before you sign up then this is the last chance before the Mt. Washington race. We will be holding 2 sessions starting at 10am to 10:45am and 11:00am to 11:45am meeting at the Raven Lodge. If you are interested in going out for a run on snowshoes then come up for this complimentary session. We will be offering one last chance to sign up at Early Bird price of $25 on Sunday after each session. Pre registration price of $35 ends on Jan. 17 at midnight. Thursday Night Drop In is back on at Mount Seymour! Not sure if you will like running on the snow, come on up to Mount Seymour on Thursday nights and give it a try for $5 if you have your own snowshoes and $10 if you don't. Saturday Morning Drop In at Mount Seymour Saturday morning is all about starting the weekend with a great workout! This program is designed to meet the needs of all abilities by providing a daytime snowshoe experience for beginner/intermediate and advance athletes. Come up to Mount Seymour and try snowshoe running, the 'Ultimate Winter Cross Train'. Run with your family or friends and meet great people in this social non-threatening workout environment. $5 if you own your own snowshoes and $10 if you need to rent. For more info click here.
