Hi Racers

Mt Washington this weekend!!!

As always Mount Washington will kick off the Yeti Race season. It's a venue like no other with an amazing 5km loop that is ranked one of the best in the West! Dave NoronaWhen I designed this course I stumbled across the rolling meadows and the classic ridge line, I new I was onto something. What I like most about this course is that we track out the trail, prior to our arrival no trail exist so for me as a course designer it really leaves a lot to the imagination. Each year is a little different providing a new experience for all those involved. I am already looking forward to the competitors crossing the line with that snowshoe grin on their face.

Dave Norona

A new addition to the team this year is Super Dave Norona as the series Emcee. He is an unbelievable individual that has had more adventures in his life so far than 20 people combined! He is always great on the mic and will make this event sensational!

NewJuc

NewJuc Logo We have great news! Our sponsor NewJuc will be here on the weekend bringing enough juice for everyone to try (and you will love it!) and offering up a $10 bottle to the first 100 people registered. NewJuc is a Blueberry Pomegranate blend that will knock your socks off!

Dress up your team and you could win a Yeti entries!

Snow Queens

Last season we saw a few teams come out in their colours but none quite like the Snow Queens! They did it up in a big way and really made the race fun that day not only for themselves but for everyone around them. Dress up your team and the best dressed team on course will win a free entry for every person on the team to another Yeti.

Mobadass logo Saturday night is all about staying up at the mountain and partying at Fat Teddy's! Mobadass is the headliner, Funk, Ska and Island music fronted by Wide Mouth Mason's Earl Pereira. $10 at the door. There was also talk about this being a Super Hero theme party so grab those tights and cape and come on out to rip up the dance floor!

Grab the family and make a weekend of it, snowshoe on Saturday and Ski/Snowboard on Sunday!

SIGN UP NOW!

Volunteers Needed!

If you or someone you know wants to come up to be part of the yeti this weekend we could still use some more great people! Help out with registration, timing or get out on course and cheer racers on. The Yeti is what it is because of the people that help to put it on. Go to our Volunteer page for more info.

Wiggin in the Woods

Wiggin in the Woods

January 1, 2008 was a beautiful day on Mount Seymour, no wind, high overcast sky and cool temps made it feel like a true January day. For some people this News Years day is marked by tradition, many enjoy jumping into frigid waters, others enjoy sleeping in and visiting family. This year The Yeti provided an opportunity to start a new tradition. Sure a lot of us have gone for a snowshoe before but how many can say that they went for a snowshoe with 35 other people that were wearing outlandish wigs?" .

"Wiggin in the Woods" has been around for a few years, a close group of friends have tucked the flask away and gone for a traditional snowshoe. Well, this year we thought that we would bring it to the masses and it did not disappoint. Standing on top of Dinky Peak enjoying the view was a fantastic way to start the year and that fresh mountain air helps to clear up the head from the night before.

We would like announce the winners of our best wig out that day, Betty and Dave. Not only did they have great wigs but nice asses too!

Dave and Betty

A big thank you to those that came out and to all those that did not come up, maybe next year You can Wig out with the Yeti! It really does provide an opportunity for you to "let your hair down".

Happy New Year

Thursday Nights Are On

Last Thursday Night Drop In was a great start to the season with almost 80 people out. With the weather being so nice we are expecting even more this Thursday so make sure you get up the mountain with plenty of time to sign and get ready

The Yeti Thursday Night Drop In Session provides an opportunity for you to snowshoe run in a fun none intimidating environment. We have a walk/hike group for first timers that want to get their feat white. The Run/Walk is the most popular group during drop in season, they really like to "Yeti it up" out on the trail. The run group is for those that are looking for a more consistent pace, be ready for a steady Eddie for the 1 hour. Every year I see new people come out and enjoy the evening session so much, they come back to all the Thursday Nights, maybe this will be you for 2008!
