Message From The Race Director

I would first like to thank all the people that have come out to Yeti so far this season - it has been a great start!
This weekend will be the third annual Yeti at Mount Seymour and it's not too late to sign up online and save some money.

Registration will be held at the same place it has been for the last 2 seasons, Enquist Lodge, which is located at the first parking lot as you get near the top. There will be signs letting you know where to turn in. Registration will open at 8am and close at 9:30 so please don't be late, we want to start on time. Race will start at 10am and awards and prizing will follow after the last racer has come in.

TEAMS
This year the Yeti has introduced a team category to crate a little bit of fun competition between groups. So far it has done just that. Here are the winners in the team category for the first 2 races.
Mount Washington
Club Smart Ass
Overall average time of 1:20:46
Silver Star
Runners Sole
Overall average time of 53:16

These were 2 totally different courses and weather played a big role in the Mount Washington race.

I would like to congratulate Andrew Clarke for his first win in the Men's open category. Andrew has been racing in the Yeti since the beginning. Way to go Andrew!

Write-ups on the first 2 Yeti races

The Most Snow Ever! (2004 Mount Washington Yeti)
by Ina Kerckhoff
January 31st was a snowy paradise on Mt Washington! As the group of 50+ snowshoers gathered at the start of the race, the anticipation was building. We were ready to challenge the Yeti! At 3-2-1 go I did not expect what happened next, there was snow everywhere. Starting at the back I expected to see everyone take off in front of me, instead I felt as though I was part of a snowball. The heels of snowshoes kicked all the fresh snow from the racers ahead of me into my mouth, down my top, up my back... Click here for the full article.

Silver Star Yeti 2004
by Dave Cressman
POOF! Powder everywhere! The Yeti must have tripped me! I was making a passing bid on the last of the crazy downhill powder sections when I lost my footing and landed headlong into the depths of the Silverstar powder. I gathered together my now very damaged ego and planned my assault on fourth place.... Click here for the full article.

The Co-ops have more bargaining power and can demand a higher price for their coffee giving farmers a better standard of living. The growing of organic shade grown coffee results in better water quality and health conditions for farmers. They do not use pesticides, herbicides and/or fertilizers which can be harmful to both the producer and the environment. See below for more information on shade grown coffee.
