Message From The Race Director

The Yeti is coming to Cypress Mountain this Saturday March 6th so if you haven't already pre-registered now is your chance to take advantage of saving some cash and signing up for a great event!

Registration will be held in the Nordic/Snowshoe area, it is the first turn off before you reach the top. There will be signs indication where to turn. When you get into the parking lot you will see the big top tent, this is where registration will be held.
Registration opens at 8am and goes until 9:15am and race will begin at 10am.
Try to get there early to avoid the last minute line up and help us keep the start of the race on time.
All of the Yeti's snowshoes are rented but racers that are signing up on race day will still be able to rent running specific snowshoes (Dual Tracs) from Cypress for the same price as what the Yeti is charging, $10. You can call ahead now and reserve a pair. 604.922.0825 and ask to speak to someone in snowshoe rentals.
Don't let the weather determine your participation, rain or shine you're in for a great time!!!
Don’t forget to bring a warm change of clothes for after the race.
COST
- On-line Pre-Registration - open until midnight Thursday March 18
Single race - $35
Multiple races, take $5 off each race you register for
Team - $25/person and must have at least 5 people and have race bibs
Group - $25/person and must have at least 5 people
- Race Day - open at 8am until 9:15am

Don't forget that the more races you enter the more chances you have of winning the Ultimate Snowshoers Grand Prize that will be drawn on April 4th at Whistler/Blackcomb. For more details click here. Congratulations to team Runners Sole for taking another victory in Sun Peaks. Runners Sole is the first team to take 2 spots on the Yeti plaque. There's talk that they're going to come out to Whistler to try to take it one more time. Get your teams together and give them a run for their money.

March Registration Promotion

This months draw prize will be a pair of Dual Trac Snowshoes (see picture at right). Anyone who signs up online from now until the end of March 2004 will have a chance of winning this great prize worth almost $400. Sea2Summit Off-Road Duathlon - May 16/04
New at sea2summit, we are proud to introduce our first Off-Road Duathlon presented by Innovative Fitness, North Shore Athletics and John Henry the Bicycle Man.
Race solo or as a team of two relay. All men, all women, or co-ed. You decide. It's your day, your race, and your call. The duathlon will use some of the fantastic lower Mount Seymour trails, located in North Vancouver. It will approximately be a 5km trail run, 20km mountain bike and finishing with one more loop of the 5km trail run.

GutBuster and MOMAR
The first GutBuster is approaching fast, April 10th in Duncan. Are you ready to Bust a Gut on our 5km or 11km mountain course!
Plus, the season opening Mind Over Mountain race is set to take place in Duncan on May 8th, offering a challenging 35km course or a beginner 18km course, a great way to get your feet wet for the upcoming season.
We are excited to be hosting our first ever MOMAR race on the Sunshine Coast June 12th!

RecGroup SCAR
Have you ever dreamed of competing in an adventure race? Now here is your chance! Do it for fun or do it to win! Getting a S.C.A.R. has never been so much fun! The Deep Cove S.C.A.R. includes a 5km Trail Run to Quarry Rock, a 2km Paddle, a 10km Mountain Bike (super easy terrain - gravel trail and road) and Mystery Events. Solo, Team of 2 or Relay.

Iron Lung Squamish Thunder 10km
Race is run on a combination of groomed gravel paths, soft dirt single track, and a short distance on pavement. Course is rolling, with one nasty 300m climb (Rock and Roll). Trails included in this run are the Four Lakes Trail, Bob MacIntosh Memorial Trail, Jack's Trail, and a variety of secondary trails.

Volunteers are needed throughout the Yeti race series. These volunteers people are the backbone to organization and smooth running of the Yeti, so if you want to get out and meet new people, travel to new places and have a great time then sign up to be a volunteer. There are great perks to being a volunteer.
