Message from the Race Director

Hey Snowshoers!

I want to thank everyone who helped make this season's series a huge success. Thanks to the Yeti staff, Team Yeti, Sponsors, volunteers and you the participants. Not only was participation up at all the races but also at the clinic and drop in nights at Mount Seymour. It takes a lot to put on races every couple of weeks not only for the staff and volunteers but for the participants, so I thank for your support in helping this new sport grow and old recreation continue to grow.

We still have one event left, the Yeti Ascent on Sunday April 9. This is the largest trail/snowshoe ascent race in North America. Don't let that title scare you, if you like to hike the grind then this event is for you. You can do this event as a Solo, Relay team of 2 or just the upper snowshoe ascent only. Pre-registration is in affect until Thursday April 6 at midnight. We are also offering a FREE Yeti Ascent t-shirt to people that sign up before April 1 as we need to print them to have them in time for the event. If you have any questions about the Ascent either visit www.theyeti.ca or email marc@theyeti.ca.

Re-Drawn Atlas Dual Tracs

As all of you that were at the awards know, Dave Howells was drawn for the Atlas Dual Tracs but after thinking it through he wanted to donate them back for a re-draw. Below is what he had to say.
"Winning is always nice but I have decided to return the Atlas Dual Tracs for re draw. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Heidi Fowler on winning these great snowshoes. See you on the single track."
    Dave Howells
I would like to take this opportunity to talk a little about what Dave contributes to the Yeti. Dave has worked for the Yeti Snowshoe Academy for the past 2 seasons, not the series. He has put in hundreds of volunteer hours as a course designer, my safety adviser and overall snowshoe enthusiast. I think it is awesome that he feels he should give back the snowshoes for a re draw even though I think he deserves them as much as anyone else who gets their name drawn. We will be holding our volunteer party at the end of the season where all the volunteers will have their shot at winning a couple pairs of Atlas snowshoes. Thanks Dave for all that you have done for the Yeti and the sport of snowshoeing.

Atlas Dual Trac Snowshoes for Sale

We have been asked all season if we are going to sell off our snowshoe fleet at the end of the season, the answer is yes we are. I have started a list of people that are interested already and it is filling up fast. We are selling our Dual Tracs for $175 tax included ($255 + tax and up in stores). If you are interested then email marc@theyeti.ca. We are going to sell these after the Yeti Ascent as we will need to rent them out one last time. If you are doing or planning on doing the Ascent and were going to rent and want to buy I'll sell them to you earlier. This is a great deal so don't miss out!
