Hi Evenyone

This newsletter has all the info you'll need to take part in the Yeti Ascent next Saturday April 21. Remember this is a fundraiser for the Heart & Stroke Foundation so just by taking part in the event you are helping a great cause and doing it in memory of Bob Withers.

The Yeti Ascent In Memory of Bob Withers

Registration

If you would like to get your FREE Yeti Ascent t-shirt you will need to register by noon this Friday April 13 (TOMORROW) as we need to get them printed and need to know numbers and sizes. We may have a few extras to sell but we are trying to have just enough so we aren't left with too many dated shirts after the event, so sign up now and get your commemorative Yeti Ascent t-shirt! Registration will still be open until Thursday April 19 at midnight, after that we will have day of registration in Deep Cove only, NOT at the top of Mt. Seymour. Race day registration will be held at Panorama Park in Deep Cove from 7:30am to 8:30am.

Shuttle Bus From Seymour To Deep Cove

For those of you that don't have a support person coming to drop you off in Deep Cove and meet you at Mt. Seymour we have arranged a shuttle bus that will only hold 48 people. If you would like to take advantage of this service you will need to contact marc@theyeti.ca to get your name on the list. The bus will leave Mt. Seymour at 7:30am SHARP so if you are planning to get a ride down you should be at the top no later than 7:15am to park and get your things together. The cost for the bus will be $5, which you will need to pay in cash when you get on the bus. Please don’t be late!

Make sure that you take your snowshoes with you down to the bottom, as it is mandatory that you pack your snowshoes up with you. If you would like to leave a bag with all of your stuff at the transition area you can do so at the Bears Den building which is located at the far North End of Mt. Seymour parking lot. We will put your bag under the transition tent so you will have access to it when you reach the parking lot level (transition area).

Ascent Course Map

Mt. Seymour Logo To all of you that haven't seen the course map you can download it right here. There will be 5 Peaks course flags along the lower portion of the course and Atlas flags once you hit the snowline. Mt. Seymour Ski Patrol will be on standby at the transition area and we would like to welcome the Canadian Ski Patrol Systems to the Yeti Ascent. The CSPS will be located on the upper portion of the course all the way up to Pump Peak.

The Bob Withers Spirit Award

We have been taking in all the nominations for this award and have come up with a winner, find out who is deserving of this great award at the awards ceremony at Taylor's Crossing.
