Message From The Race Director

First off I would like to apologize for the time it has taken to get this year-end newsletter out. I would like to thank all of you that participated in any of this seasons Yeti races, it was great to see the event evolve and the growth of the sport. I am going to be putting a survey online and would love it if you could take a few minutes to fill it out and email it back. The information will help to make the event even better for all of you next year and it will help us at the Yeti to understand what it is that makes a great event from a racers point of view.

I would like to thank my staff and all of the volunteers that came out to give their time and energy, we wouldn't have had the success we had without all of your help!

My staff includes the following:
  • Mike - Volunteer Coordinator
  • Rachel - Publicist
  • MA - Headquarters Coordinator
  • Gen - Registration/Results
  • Katherine - Registration/Timing
  • Lorien - Registration
  • Jeff - Yeti Mascot
Sponsors:
I would next like to thank all of the sponsors that provided all of the great prizes and products to help run this event. To check out what these sponsors have to offer click on their logos below.

I would like to thank the people behind the scenes, Rene from Mountain Media Design for the web site and Rick from Carty Design for all the great graphic design work, the Yeti couldn't have looked as great without all of your work.

Venues:
Thank you to all of the Mountains that hosted Yeti events, they were all fantastic venues!

Overall Yeti Champion:
I would like to send a big congratulations out to Andrew Clarke for putting it all on the line this season and being the Overall Yeti Champion, all the training paid off! Way to go!

Ultimate Snowshoer's Grand Prize:
To the Ultimate Snowshoer's Grand Prize winner Deena Mohammed, who walked away with over $2000 worth of snowshoeing gear. Looking forward to seeing out at all the Yeti races next season sporting all your new gear.

Dual Tracs For Sale: I had a lot of people ask me if we were going to have any showshoes for sale at the end of this season and as it turns out we do have a few pair of brand new Dual Tracs to sell. Retail on these snowshoes is $400 and the Yeti is selling them for $250. If you are interested in a pair please contact Marc at marc@theyeti.ca. I only have a few pair so don't wait too long.

In the works for next year:
  • Team Yeti
  • Yeti Airboard Rally
  • Canadian Snowshoe Athletic Association
  • New qualifying for overall championship
  • Cross Training programs and clinics

Again, thanks for the support and we'll see all of you again next season.

Please send any comments you have to marc@theyeti.ca.
