Message From The Race Director

Winter 2005 is shaping up to be the Biggest Yeti ever! I hope everyone is looking forward to leaving your snowshoe footprint out on hill! The yeti has expanded both program and race schedule offerings, read on and enjoy these exciting new announcements.

But first, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for your support at last years events. I would also like to thank all the new snowshoer's for signing up for the Yeti SnowTimes, we look forward to showing you that, "the Yeti is the most fun on snow" I want to take this opportunity to announce a new addition to the Yeti logistic team and that is Lisa Wolff. Lisa will be dealing with Race Headquarters, Volunteers, day-to-day operations and promotion. I look forward to her working with the Yeti!

The Yeti Snowshoe Academy in partnership with Mount Seymour:

The big announcement for 2005 is our exciting partnership with Mount Seymour. We have come together to create the first ever "Yeti Snowshoe Academy", offering fun snowshoe running programs for all abilities allowing individuals with different fitness levels to train for a Yeti snowshoe race and cross-train for better overall fitness. For more information on dates and prices, click here. I would also like to welcome Dave Howells as the Director of Operations and Melissa Birk as the Director of Programming to the Yeti team. Their experience with snowshoe running programs over the last 5 years will really attribute to the growth and success of the Yeti Snowshoe Academy! Snowshoe Demo Night at Mount Seymour

Thursday December 16/04 - 7pm to 9pm
Cancellation Date: Thursday Jan 13/05

If you want to try snowshoe running but have been too intimidated, now is your chance during this complimentary Snowshoe Demo Night. The Yeti, in partnership with Mount Seymour will be hosting an evening of snowshoe fun for hikers, runners and athletes of all disciplines. This is a great opportunity to see what all the hype is around snowshoe running, the fastest growing winter activity. Find out about the snowshoe running programs that the Yeti Snowshoe Academy and Mount Seymour have to offer.

Upcoming Clinics

Corporate/Club Events - Monday's starting in January 05
Corporate/Club Night allows different industries and companies to explore the potential of snowshoe running as a healthy outdoor winter activity, allowing them the opportunity to bring up both staff and customers to Mount Seymour for a fun non-intimidating snowshoe running experience. This program is designed to meet the needs of all abilities by providing a group activity that will introduce an exciting team-building component to this snowshoe running experience.

Thursday Night Drop in - 7pm-9pm starting in December 04

Thursday night is all about fun on snow! This program is designed to meet the needs of all abilities by providing a nighttime drop-in snowshoe experience for beginner/intermediate and advance groups. Come up to Mount Seymour and try snowshoe running on a 3km loop that can be completed once, twice or three times. Run with your family or friends and meet some great people in this social non-threatening workout environment.

Ultra Yeti - Manning Park - April 16/05

The Yeti is proud to announce the birth of the Ultra Yeti taking place at Manning Park. The Ultra Yeti offers the biggest and the best in snowshoe travel. Run or hike this challenging 25km loop and enjoy the beautiful mountain terrain at Manning Park. If Ultra Yeti sounds too tuff then give the Half Ultra Yeti a try, 12.5km.

Manning Park will also host the season wrap up racer/volunteer appreciation party that you won't want to miss!

The Ultra Yeti is the only way to finish the snowshoe season!
